Apple has enlisted Samsung to manufacture iPhone chips at its Texas facility, marking a strategic shift under its American Manufacturing Program. The collaboration aims to bolster domestic supply chains as geopolitical tensions and potential tariffs loom. Earlier warnings from the TRUMP administration about 25% levies on foreign-developed products prompted Apple to commit an additional $100 billion to U.S. operations, bringing its total planned investment to $600 billion through 2027.

Analysts note the move serves dual purposes: insulating Apple from trade wars while maintaining political favor. Wedbush's Daniel Ives praised the decision as "a masterclass in supply chain diplomacy," though skeptics point out similar pledges were made during both Trump and Biden administrations. The Texas-produced chips will power next-generation iPhones destined for global markets, with Samsung also expected to supply critical image sensors.
